Summary:
MS Technology is seeking a Mechanical/HVAC Engineer with experience in the application of principles, theories and concepts in HVAC and mechanical engineering. The ideal candidate has expertise in Ventilation and Instrumentation Diagrams (V&IDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), calculations, and specifications for Mechanical/HVAC systems and equipment.

MS Technology is seeking a Mechanical/HVAC Engineer with experience in the application of principles, theories and concepts in HVAC and mechanical engineering. The ideal candidate has expertise in Ventilation and Instrumentation Diagrams (V&IDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), calculations, and specifications for Mechanical/HVAC systems and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Full understanding of mechanical engineering with ability to provide resolution to a diverse range of complex problems.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design codes (ASME, ANSI, API, NFPA).
- Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite). Additional software skills including Bluebeam, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Vault, Plant3D, Inventor, ReCap, SolidWorks, FARO Scene, and other 3D rendering programs preferred.
- Broad application of principles, theories and concepts in HVAC and mechanical engineering, plus working knowledge of other related fields.
- Experience in HVAC mechanical system design.
- Develop design documents, including V&IDs and equipment data sheets, that incorporate the applicable design requirements, including nuclear safety requirements.
- Collect HVAC, safety, and other data and requirements for HVAC and/or other support systems.
- Design system and specify equipment to meet applicable design requirements.
- Procure equipment in accordance with applicable QA requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering group and other disciplines in developing detailed system design and specifying equipment in a team environment.
- Prepare technical reports and studies and design documentation, performing calculations using engineering software, and preparing specifications for complex mechanical equipment and supporting systems.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
- Perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
- Ensures conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures.
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university (Entry-level positions).
- Master’s degree or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (Mid-level positions).
- Doctoral degree or equivalent; or more than 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (Senior-level positions).
- Candidate must be able to perform field walk-downs as needed.
- Professional Engineer License preferred.
- DOE Q-Clearance preferred.
- Client projects for this position require US Citizenship.
