Summary: The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished equipment in accordance with drawings, work instructions, and quality requirements. This role supports fabrication and production operations by performing hands‑on assembly work while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
Location: Onsite in Tennessee Salary Range: Depending on experience
Responsibilities:
Assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, and equipment according to drawings and work instructions
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly prints, and bills of materials
Use hand tools, power tools, and basic measurement equipment accurately
Perform fit‑up, alignment, fastening, and adjustment of mechanical parts
Conduct visual and functional checks to ensure quality standards are met
Identify defects, missing parts, or non‑conformances and report issues promptly
Follow OSHA safety requirements and shop safety procedures
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area
Assist with material handling, kitting, and staging for production jobs
Support continuous improvement and cross‑training efforts
Document work performed, as required
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in mechanical assembly or manufacturing
Ability to read and follow mechanical drawings and instructions
Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Basic math skills and ability to use measuring tools
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial environment
Familiarity with torque requirements and fastener specifications
Experience working with electrical panels, enclosures, or equipment assemblies
Experience supporting quality inspections or production documentation
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Ability to work in an industrial fabrication environment
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
Repetitive use of hands and tools
Exposure to noise, tools, equipment, and shop conditions
Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
