We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Data Migration Specialist to lead and execute data migration initiatives across various platforms and systems. This role is critical to ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and security of data as it transitions between environments. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, implement, and validate data migrations that support business transformation and system upgrades.
Responsibilities
- Analyze source and target systems to determine data migration requirements and strategies
- Design and implement data migration plans, including mapping, transformation, and validation processes
- Develop scripts, tools, and workflows to automate and streamline migration tasks
- Perform data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and loading (ETL)
- Conduct pre- and post-migration testing to ensure data integrity and completeness
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues during migration
- Document migration processes, configurations, and lessons learned for future reference
- Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and security standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in data migration, ETL processes, or database administration
- Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation tools (e.g., Talend, Informatica, SSIS)
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and on-premise systems
- Strong understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and data warehousing
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ERP or CRM system migrations (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, Oracle)
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
- Project management experience or certification (e.g., PMP, Agile)
